5 UNIQUE FEATURES of ARGENTINIAN SPANISH 🇦🇷
Argentinian Spanish is quite similar to the other Latin American Spanish varieties, but it has five characteristics that make it unique. In this video, as a native Spanish teacher from Argentina, I´ll tell you about the main slang words, expressions, intonation and pronounciation features you need to know to recognize and understand Argentinian speakers. 🇦🇷
Latin American countries have a common history. But each one has its peculiarities. Other expressions ("che boludo") come from the native peoples of the area and from the wars of independence. Learn Spanish in Buenos Aires - Vamos Academy Argentina
Our goal at Vamos Academy Buenos Aires is to make sure our students learn. Providing a relevant and productive learning environment is always at the top of our minds, but in order to do so, understanding our students is key. This is why we push ourselves to get to know every single one of our students, both academically and personally, before they even set foot into our classrooms.
All students, except for those who have never studied Spanish before, need to go through our placement process before their first Spanish class. This allows our academic director to accurately determine the skill level and needs of each student. During the assessment, we also take into consideration a student’s language learning background, as well as other languages they may speak. Balancing the results of the...

Argentina received, after independence, more Italian than Spanish immigration, which changed the way of speaking and the lexicon used. Other expressions ("che boludo") come from the native peoples of the area and from the wars of independence. "Voseo" and "yeísmo rehilado" are two very notorious characteristics of our variety, and we also explain them in this video.
During the video you'll see some short clips of celebrities like Anya Taylor-Joy or Viggo Mortensen, that grew up in Argentina and speak the language as natives. Megan Markle lived in Buenos Aires for some months when she was 20, and also speaks this variety of Spanish, at a lower level of course.

Balancing the results of the assessment with these other considerations means that students are placed as accurately and appropriately as possible.
We believe that the perfect Spanish coursebook doesn’t exist, as everyone and every group has its own needs, strengths, weaknesses, likes and dislikes, and we value this diversity. So, based on our extensive experience, we have designed our own dynamic materials to make sure our students master the four main language skills – speaking, listening, reading and writing – as well as having fun while learning. Also, while most of the Spanish learning books on the market are published in Spain, we make sure our materials embrace the unique immersion learning environment of being in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Although reading and writing are included in the program, our main goal is to make you feel comfortable using Spanish in real situations of daily life. We focus on oral practice, speaking and listening. Classes are taught entirely in Spanish and within this immersion context you will learn to think and talk in the language.
By using different teaching techniques we use both the classroom and the streets of the city, integrating both locations allowing you to participate in real conversations naturally and effectively from your very first day, allowing you to learn Spanish fast, effectively and naturally.
